Chilwell challenge for promotion

A 5-4 win over David Lloyd Aspley 1 maintains Chilwell second Mens team's unbeaten record, an all round team performance ensuring this narrow win (points 335-325), taking them to the top of Division 3A, with prospects of promotion.

Mapperley Park 1 take the lead in the Mens Premier Division with a 5-4 win against Mansfield Oaktree but were unable to prevent the visitors Matt Stacey and Ben Wheatley from winning their three rubbers. Oaktree then bounced back to defeat Bingham 1 by 5-4, Matt Stacey and Tom Hird being unbeaten.
Adam Chesterton and James Hand's three rubbers guided Carlton 1 to a 6-3 win over Byron 1 in Mens Premier, while in Division one Ben Sanders and Mark Ross recorded a maximum for Beeston Fields 1 in their 6-3 success at Bingham 2 and followed up with a 9-0 'clean sweep' over St Giles 1.
Rolls Royce 2 maintain their challenge in 2A with a 5-4 win against Chilwell 1, Jake Orchard and Ragnar Mularczyk winning their three rubbers, then over-coming East Leake 1 by 9-0.
David Lloyd Aspley 1 obtained their first win in 3A, Matt White and Khurram Awan taking three rubbers in their 7-2 success against Southwell 3. Imran Azam and Rizwan Iqbal being undefeated for Unity 1 Away at Beeston Valley 2 in Division 3B but saw their team go down 5-4.
In Division 5, East Leake 3 edged a close contest 5-4 Away at Trent University and then defeated a depleted Carlton 4 by 6-3.

Dave Hargreaves and Julie Peart were unbeaten to lead Chilwell 1 to a 7-2 victory Away at Southwell 1 in Mixed Division 2B. Beeston Fields 3 taking the lead in this Division with two 8-1 successes, beating both Southwell 1 and Beeston Valley 1.
Not to be outdone, Beeston Fields 4 scored an 8-1 win against Southwell 2 in 3B, while in 4A yet another 8-1 win was secured by Crusader 2 against Redhill 1.
A closer contest in 4A saw Kevin Cuthbert and Brenda Wells take three rubbers for St Giles 4 but finished on the losing side 5-4 Away at Radcliffe Knights.

Anna Barratt and Victoria Ringland were undefeated, backed up by three rubbers from Loraine Buck and Karen Gleave, in Forest 1's 6-3 win against Bingham 1 in Ladies Premier but then lost 5-4 to chief challengers Beeston Fields 1, whose Kim Clague and Rachel Hickie took their three rubbers.
In Division 1, Bingham 3 gained their first win, Lucy and Amy Attewell being unbeaten in their 6-3 success against Mansfield Oaktree.
Boots recorded a 7-2 success Away at Southwell in Division 3, Southwell bouncing back to beat Mapperley Park 4 by 5-4 but no pair in either side able to dominate.
