Nott’s 55s team complete their season with an impressive win

On Sunday 3rd March, Nott’s Over 55s team travelled to Warwickshire.
Despite numerous personnel changes due to injuries and illness, the team gained an impressive win in their final match of the season. The team won all four Men’s, two Ladies and three Mixed rubbers, resulting in a 9-3 win.
Among several notable performances, Gordon Newstead had a 100% record taking both his Men’s rubbers with partner Richard Tang and the Mixed with Frances Fox.
The win solidifies Nottinghamshire in second place in the Midlands division.

On 10th April Nott’s Over 45s and 60s teams also play their final League matches at Chilwell Olympia against Shropshire and Leicestershire respectively. Should the 60s team win they will remain top the Midlands League and together with our 50s team, represent the Midlands region in the County Championship Finals held at Birmingham University over the weekend of 23/24th April.
