55s holding their own in the North Division

Notts Masters over 40s and 55s teams entertained Lancashire and Cheshire respectively on Sunday 13th November, playing on their Home courts at Chilwell Olympia. Both teams this season now playing in the North divisions.
The 40s playing their first match of the season found their opposition tough. However, Lancashire didn’t have it all their own way when Notts took six rubbers to three sets. Notts fought hard but were unable to overcome the all-round strength of their opposition, losing the match 11-1. Lee Truong and Laura Birkinshaw taking the only rubber for the Home side.
The team’s next match is against Cheshire on December 11th at Chilwell.

The 55s having already beaten Yorkshire played their second match of the season against Cheshire.
The Notts team got off to a great start, winning three Mens and two Ladies rubbers – score 5-3 up, requiring two out of the four remaining Mixed rubbers to win the match.
Top Mixed pair Loraine and Adam Buck won their match comfortably.
Cheshire then won 2nd Mixed – score 6-4. Notts requiring one more rubber to win the match outright.
3rd & 4th Mixed now on court. 4th Mixed lost in two straight sets.
3rd Mixed pair Sarah Heathcote and Neil Franklin won their rubber in three sets 21-19, 18-21, 21-18 resulting in a tense 7-5 win to the Home side.
Adam & Loraine Buck were both unbeaten in the match. Playing together at 1st Mixed.

Loraine playing 1st Ladies with partner Karen Gleave.
The team next play Lancashire at Home on December 18th.
