Remembering Ash Mir - Club news from Crusader Badminton Club

Remembering Ash.

On Friday 22nd September 2023, Crusader Badminton Club proudly hosted the second Ash Mir Trophy competition in celebration of their much loved member Ash Mir, who tragically died of Covid in January 2021.

It was a brilliant tournament and a fitting tribute to Ash. At the end of the evening we had 2 worthy winners, Karen Gleave and John Fletcher. Had Ash still been there he would have given his all to win this annual tournament. He was as competitive as he was a wonderful friend and a greatly missed team mate.

His family wrote to us after last year's event:
‘We as a family really appreciate your thought and effort. We miss him loads. Ash was a big part of out lives. Thank you so much for remembering him and honouring him. We are humbled by your remembrance and the knowledge that he impacted on your lives like he did on ours is a blessing. Thank you so much for the update and photos. Stay in touch.’
