Arboretum Badminton Club were successful in their bid to Badminton England’s Development Fund, receiving a generous £1,500 to help launch a pilot of No Strings Development sessions.
Adding to their existing No Strings offer, the new sessions are designed to bridge the gap between beginner and club level, providing a pathway through to competitive league play. The aim is that they’ll produce a new generation of badminton players to feed into clubs across the city and county.
Delivered at Nottingham High School on a Wednesday evening, the sessions are volunteer-led and, crucially, low cost - ensuring accessibility. The funding is contributing to hall and shuttle costs, reducing the financial risk to the club.
“These session are great because they allow me to play at a higher level and adapt my game to faster-paced play. I’m hoping they help me to improve my badminton so I can eventually join a club.”
Jas Kainth, No Strings Development player
