Tough matches for Masters 45s & 60s teams

45s TeamNott’s Master over 45s & over 60s teams played on Sunday 7th January. The 45s travelled to Derbyshire while the 60s played League favourites Yorkshire on their home courts at Chilwell Olympia.
Both teams were unable to overcome the all-round strength of their opposition.

Nott’s 45s won two Men’s, lost all four Ladies and all four Mixed, resulting in a 2-10 loss. Notable performances from Con Truong and Simon Vanderwalt who beat Derbyshire’s 1st Men’s pair also Mat Haigh and Sion Severn beating Derbyshire’s 2nd Men’s pair.
The 45s next play the return match against League favourites Worcestershire on February 18th at Chilwell Olympia.

Nott’s 60s team also battled hard. Mark Attewell, playing at 1st Mens & 1st Mixed, won Nott’s two rubbers with Men’s partner Adrian Mateo and Mixed partner Jacqui Burton.
Other notable performances were from Jerry Deacon and David Hall losing their Mens rubber 19-21 in the third end. Eileen Clarke and Adrian Mateo losing their Mixed 18-21 in the third end.
The 60s next play the return match against Cheshire on February 11th at Chilwell, when hopefully the team can improve on their previous 5-7 loss.
