Nott’s 60s team opened their season with a 6-6 winning draw

Nott’s 60s team travelled to play Cheshire on Sunday 17th November. For the last two season’s their match results against Cheshire have been very close, this match was no exception.
Both teams had problems on the day of the match and both had to substitute a lady. Cheshire played an underage lady to enable the Nott’s team to play their normal number of twelve rubbers. Fortunately, Gill Maloney saved the day for the Nott’s team, when Wendy Bland sustained an injury prior to the match.
It was a hard battle, four matches went to three ends, unfortunately, Nott’s lost all four. The final score a winning 6-6 draw, 16-12 games and 543-408 points to the Nott’s team.
The team next play the return match against Cheshire on 24th November at Chilwell Olympia.
