Triple wins for Nott’s Masters Teams

Three Nott’s Masters County teams played on Sunday 24th November.
The 45s and 60s teams entertained Warwickshire and Cheshire on their Home courts at Chilwell Olympia, while the 50s team travelled to play Cambridgeshire.

The 60s team, having played against Cheshire last Sunday, when they came home with a winning draw on points; they knew it was likely to be yet another close encounter.
Again, it was touch and go throughout the match. After the level doubles, the score was even, each team winning two Men’s and two Ladies rubbers. To win the match outright, both teams needed to win three of the four remaining Mixed doubles. It was not to be; again, each team won two and lost two Mixed rubbers resulting in a 6-6 draw in rubbers, 13-13 games. The outcome, Nott’s winning the match again on points – Nott’s 460 points, Cheshire 455 points.
The team next play Lancashire on December 15th at Chilwell Olympia.

Nott’s 45s team proved to be too strong against Warwickshire. They won all their twelve rubbers in two straight sets, resulting in a convincing 12-0 win to the Home side.
The team next play local rivals Derbyshire on December 8th at David Lloyd, Derby.

Nott’s 50s Team, last season’s English League Champions, played against their main rivals Cambridgeshire in the Midlands East Division. The final score of 11-1 to Nott’s, did not reflect the tight matches. Six of the twelve games went to three sets, all ending in Nott’s favour.
Their next match is Away against old rivals Bedfordshire on December 15th. Their last encounter with Bedfordshire was in the 50s Midlands Play Offs last season, when Nott’s gained a resounding 12-0 win.
