40s team in good form

Three Nott’s Masters County teams played on Sunday 26th January.
The 40s entertained Leicestershire, while the 50s played their return match against Bedfordshire on their Home courts at Chilwell Olympia, the 60s team travelled to play Yorkshire.

The 40s are having a great start this season. Having already shown their mark, when beating Warwickshire 11-1. Then losing a 6-6 draw against last season’s division winners Staffordshire. Today they beat old rivals Leicestershire, Nott’s winning all four Men’s, two ladies and all four Mixed rubbers, resulting in a great 10-2 win.
The team next play Bedfordshire on Sunday 2nd March at Chilwell Olympia.

Another great win from our 50s Challenge Champions when they played a relatively strong Bedfordshire team.
Nott’s won two Men’s, three ladies and all four Mixed rubbers, resulting in a 9-3 win to Nott’s.
They next play the return match against Lincolnshire, who the team beat 12-0 last November.
The 50s are unbeaten after four matches and are very likely to move forward to the Play Off’s against the winners in the Midlands West division. This will take place on April 6th, venue to be advised.

This season our 60s team are having a tough time playing in the North division. Today they travelled to play unbeaten and favourites to win the division, Yorkshire. Unfortunately, Notts’ star man Mark Attewell was unable to play due to injury.
However, the team worked hard and Yorkshire didn’t have it all their own way. Anthony O’Leary and stalwart Andy Simpson won the only rubber for Nott’s. Lesley Griffin and Julie Peart took Yorkshire’s 1st pair to three sets and Andy Simpson with partner Wendy Bland lost 21-17 in the third set.
The 60s next match is again against Yorkshire on 23rd February, on our courts at Chilwell Olympia this time.
