3rd February 2025
Nott’s 50s team continue to win comfortably in the Midlands East division this season. On Sunday they played the return match against Lincolnshire on their home courts at Chilwell Olympia, again they won 12-0. The team have only lost six rubbers all season in the League. They next play the return match against Cambridgshire on February 23rd again on their home courts at Chilwell.
The 50s will then progress to play in the County League Play Offs against the winning team in the Midlands West. Worcestershire 50s team are looking likely to be their opposition. The match will take place on Sunday April 6th at Babington Academy College, Leicestershire. Hopefully the team will progress to play in the Masters County Championship Finals at Birmingham University over the weekend of 26/27th April, when they can hopefully retain again the title – Over 50s Champions 2025.
Nott’s 65s team played Worcestershire 2nd team at Barnt Green Sports Club; the team came home with a convincing 6-3 win. They next play Leicestershire on February 16th. Nott’s are favourites to win this match, if they do, they also move forward to play in the County Championship Finals at Birmingham.
Our 55s team are also in contention to play in the Finals. They have played and won half of their matches so far against Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire – all comfortable wins. It’s likely Nott’s will win the return matches against these three counties. Worcestershire being their main rivals.
