Mixed fortunes for Masters Teams

Notts. 40s and 55s teams both entertained Derbyshire and Northamptonshire respectively on their home courts at Chilwell Olympia on 9th December.

The 40s had a tough match against last seasons League winners Derbyshire. The visitor's all round strength resulted in a decisive 11-1 win. The Notts. 1st Ladies pair of Lee Truong and Kim Robertshaw taking the only Notts. rubber.
Lee with partner Simon Vanderwalt playing at top Mixed were unlucky not to win their match having lost their first end by the closest of margins 22-24, winning the second end 21-17 but then unable to capitalise in the third by going down 12-21.

The 55s having previously lost to League leaders Cheshire, bounced back to beat Northants by 9-3, winning three each of the Mens, Ladies and Mixed disciplines.
Wendy Bland, Jerry Deacon and Julian Dumelow were all unbeaten in the match. Wendy and Jerry playing together in the Mixed, Wendy with Ladies partner Kim Martin and Jerry with Julian Dumelow - Julian also unbeaten at top mixed with Pauline Adams.
