O/45's take third spot in Championship Finals

NottinghamshireNottinghamshire's O/45's team competed in the County Championship Finals at Hatfield over the weekend of 22/23rd April.

England's four best teams, in their respective age groups, compete for the title of Champions of England.

On Saturday the Nott's team played Hampshire in the semi final. They won one Mens, one Ladies and one Mixed rubber resulting in a 3-9 loss. However the match was closer than the score suggests with the Nott's side narrowly losing out on three of the four Mixed rubbers - had they won these rubbers it could have been a different story!

The following morning they played Yorkshire for 3rd/4th position. The Nott's team won three Mens, two Ladies and two Mixed resulting in a fine 7-5 victory, thereby becoming the third best O/45's team in England - no mean achievement.

Adam Buck, Loraine Buck and Karen Gleave were all unbeaten in the Yorkshire match. Adam with partners Kevin Langley and Loraine, Loraine with Karen and Karen with Andy Cokayne in the Mixed.

45's Team:
Adam Buck, Mike Storey, Jason Smith - Forest B.C.
Andy Cokayne - Bingham B.C.
Kevin Langley - Southwell B.C.
Karen Gleave, Loraine Buck - Forest B.C.
Jane Smith, Sarah Heathcote - Bingham B.C.
