50s team looking good for the Play Offs

Two Nott’s Masters Teams travelled to Worcestershire and Oxfordshire on Sunday 27th February.
The 45s had a tight match against Worcestershire, each team winning two Men’s, two Ladies and two Mixed rubbers – match level at 6-6. However, on count back of games won to games lost, Nott’s won 14-12 games and gained a 6-6 winning draw – thanks to Dave Barratt and Graydon Peacock taking Worcestershire’s 1st Men’s pair to three sets and Graydon with Julie Gator also taking their Mixed to three sets.
Carl Jennings and Craig Favill were both unbeaten in the match – playing together at 1st Men’s, Carl at top Mixed with Paula Wilson and Craig at 2nd Mixed with Steph Clark.
The team complete their season on April 10th when they play Shropshire on their Home courts at Chilwell Olympia.
The all-round strength of Nott’s 50s team resulted in a 12-0 win against Oxfordshire, winning all twelve rubbers in two straight sets. With only one match left to play in the Midlands West division, the team are on course to meet Cambridgeshire in the Midlands East v Midlands West Play Offs taking place at Chilwell Olympia on Saturday March 26th, start time 2.00pm. The wining team to progress to the County Championship Finals over the weekend of April 23/24th.
The 50s next play the return match against Oxfordshire on March 13th at Chilwell Olympia.
