55s Team looking set to join the 50s in the Championship Finals

Notts 40s and 55s teams both travelled to play Lancashire on Sunday 19th February.

Lancashire 40s team are unbeaten after three matches and looking firm favourites to win the North division. Nott’s 40s, hoping to improve on their 4-8 loss at Chilwell Olympia last November, again found it tough going. They lost the match 11-1. Lee Truong and Laura Birkinshaw taking the one Nott’s rubber.
The team next play Cheshire on Sunday March 5th at Chilwell Olympia.

Notts 55s team again had a battle in their return match against Lancashire, having beaten them previously 7-5 on their home courts at Chilwell. This time Notts won three Men’s and two Ladies rubbers, requiring two win’s from the last four Mixed rubbers to win the match outright. Loraine and Adam Buck at top mixed won their match comfortably. Karen Gleave and Adrian Mateo at 2nd Mixed, having lost in three sets to the same pair they played in the previous encounter, turned the result round. They won 21-19, 16-21, 20-22. Final score, 7-5 win to Notts.
Adam & Loraine Buck, Karen Gleave and Adrian Mateo were all unbeaten in the match.
Notts 55s team, after five matches and still to play their final match against Cheshire in their return match on 2nd April, are unbeaten in the North division. They are firm favourites to go through to the County Championship Finals, together with Notts. 50s team, taking place over the weekend of 22/23rd April at Birmingham University.
