Mixed fortunes for Masters Teams
On Sunday 23rd January three Masters Team’s travelled to play Derbyshire, Buckinghamshire and Worcestershire.
The 45s travelled to League leaders Derbyshire hoping to overturn the 2-10 loss at their last encounter. Again, the overall strength of Derbyshire resulted in an 8-4 win to the Home side, Nott’s winning two Men’s, one Ladies and one Mixed rubbers.
Debutant Carl Jennings was unbeaten in the match, with partners Matt Tongue and Paula Wilson.
The team next play Away to Worcestershire on February 27th.
The 55s inflict a crushing defeat on Buckinghamshire. Playing away at High Wycombe, the Nott’s side completed a 12-0 whitewash winning all four Men’s, Ladies and Mixed rubbers.
An excellent all round team performance.
The 55s next play Warwickshire at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre, Warwick on February 6th.
The 65s match v Worcestershire 2nd proved to be a very tight encounter.
Three of the nine rubber went to three ends with Worcestershire winning all three.
The team won two Mens, one Ladies and two Mixed rubbers resulting in a 5-4 win to the Nott’s side.
Mike Nettleton was unbeaten in the match.
The team next play League leaders Worcestershire 1st at Barnt Green on February 6th.
