65s beat their main rivals Worcestershire 1st Team

Three Nott’s Masters Teams played on Sunday 10th November.
The 55s and 65s both played Worcestershire on their home courts at Chilwell Olympia, while the 45s travelled to Shropshire.

The 65s knew they had to beat last season’s League winners if they were to progress to the League Finals in April. Unfortunately, a few days earlier, their top man Ian Price sustained a possible hamstring injury and had to drop out of the match.
It was initially “touch and go”. The three men’s rubbers all going to three close sets, Notts winning two. The ladies saved the day. They showed their dominance, winning all their three rubbers. The match now won, score 5-1 to Notts. Top Mixed pair Jacqui Burton and Jerry Deacon adding to the teams score, a fantastic overall 6-3 win to the Notts. side.
Jacqui Burton was unbeaten in the match.
The team next play Away against Warwickshire on December 1st.

The 55s having already won their first two matches against Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire again showed their strength against Worcestershire playing on their Home courts.
The team won two Men’s, all four Ladies and three Mixed rubbers, resulting in a 9-3 win. They too are now favourites to play in the League Finals.
Loraine Buck, Karen Gleave and Sarah Heathcote were all unbeaten in the match.
The team next play the return match Away against Warwickshire on February 9th.

Nott’s 45s team opened their season when they travelled to play a strong Shropshire team.
Shropshire won all four Men’s matches. The Ladies and Mixed matches were halved, resulting in an 8-4 win to Shropshire.
However, the Nott’s team battled hard, six out of the twelve matches went to three ends.
The Nott’s team next play Warwickshire on November 24th on their Home courts at Chilwell.
