Their selection regarding pairings was vital, they gambled by selecting two strong Men’s pairs and two strong Mixed pairs – they gambled well.
Nott’s 1st team pair Carl Jennings and Dave Barratt gained a relatively comfortable win against Hampshire’s 1st pair 21-10, 21-14.
Matt Tongue and Andy Cokayne had a real battle in their first end against Hampshire’s 2nd Men’s pair, when pulling through to win 22-20, 21-11.

Nott’s 2nd ladies pair Julie Gator and Bev Dolman again couldn’t overcome their opponent’s strength, score 10-21 & 13-21.

Both Nott’s men’s pairs went onto to beat their second round matches. Score now 4-2 to Nott’s.
Paula & Loraine, against Hampshire’s 2nd ladies pair, won the first end 21-13. It was a tense 2nd end; thankfully, the Nott’s pair came through winning 22-20.
Unfortunately, Julie & Bev lost their match against Hampshire’s 2nd pair.
